Airfare Prices 101
If you are a frequent traveler with instincts instilled on when to call your travel agent and when not to, then you are safe. This article is dedicated for those who may not be too sure about airfare deals and the best times of the years to call a travel agent.
Summer is the best time of the year to travel around. While some believe this notion with all their heart many others call it a travel myth. One reason why many travelers chose not to fly during the summer is because summer time airline airfare can rise up to horrendous prices. Psychic Readings.
Sadly not many airlines provide lower rates during summer vacation. Bad enough that travelers have to fight for their airline bookings but they also have to pay a dear sum. Hence the bottom line is that, anyone who wants to travel around with a budget will have to watch out for extreme airline airfare deals that rise as high as mountains. Psychic Readings.
To reveal a few secrets from the airline airfare industry, the best days of the week to schedule your flying out times would be Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. This is the time of the week that airlines are known to have the weakest demand for tickets. But if you are adament that you need to travel during the weekend, you will have to give up on the idea of cheaper airfare rates….
It is true that we have moved far away from physically walking in to an airline ticketing agent to make reservations because everything has become electronic nowadays. So you could even surpass the ticketing agents and book your own tickets straight from the airline itself. But remember that sometimes external parties can provide you better airline airfare rates as opposed to internal airline agents. Psychic Readings.
So never be in too much of a hurry to pay for your airline airfare deals. Researching is a golden practice because there will be plenty of agents who propose competitive rates. You should at always dismiss foolish claims made by some parties. claims such as 75% off on all airline airfare , 100% off on the second air ticket and 50% on all air tickets are false claims. Isn’t it quite obvious that any airline that offers such promotions will soon end up brankrupted? . Therefore, be wise and make only informed decision on all airline airfare deals at all times.
Essential issues to know when buying a new house
One of the greatest achievements in life is when you buy your very own home.Of course this happened more often than it is today during the housing boom. But there are some things you want to make sure you know about when buying a home.Pests are one of those things. So here are some things to look for to make sure the pests are taken care of when you buy.
First of you should just come straight out and ask the seller if there are any pest control problems. We get called out to homes all the times by sellers in our pest control San Diego service. Most of the time they are doing it to please any probable buyers. So by you asking about it most homeowners will be truthful and tell you about it.
Next thing you want to do is look for any sign of ants. In my ant control San Diego service I always ask my clients to see if there are ants on the outside of the home.If there are, then a possibility that they are in the home as well is very high. You can look for this as well as a prospective buyer.Search on the outside of the house for any probable presence of ants.
Finally you need to be sure that there are no problems about rodents. In my San Diego mouse control service this is another troublesome pest.Because when they have nested in your home they can grow in numbers faster than rabbits. The best way for you to check to see if there are rats or mice is to check the attics. You want to look to see if there are mouse droppings. If there are then there is absolutely a problem.
So hopefully this will help you understand the things to look for when purchasing a house. As mentioned having to get rid of pests is the last thing you want when moving into a new home.
How to Travel Safely
The most obvious technique of decreasing nervous is preparation. Thinking ahead and trying to prepare for the unforeseen is not simple, but taking basic safety measures is. The most apparent examples are:your preferred pain killer or headache pills; anti diarhoea pills and mosquito repellent. Though, it could and should be taken a stage further than that, if you are a worrier. Your Hair: if you are like 99% of the population of the earth, you have used up mainly of your youngster and mature life looking out of your hair. Do you even speak the same language? Even if you do, cultural variations could mean distinctive perceptions. For instance, would a blue rinse look fine on a 60 year old Asian? You could keep away from these problems by getting your hairdresser or barber to photograph his latest creation on you. If you clarify that you are going on holiday, it is improbable that they will mind. If you know the word for it. The easiest way out of this permanent problem is to leave a pad in your suitcase. Next time you go away, read the notebook that you have kept in your suitcase. Missing Bags: everybody knows that luggage is lost or is worried about it happening to them. There are two precautions you can make: 1. note down a list of what is in each baggage (for insurance purposes) and 2. set 50-50 if you are going with a companion. Doubling Up: are you prone to getting to release the whole thing and leave at a moment’s warning? If you so, then a excellent thought is to put a few grammes of all your preferred perfumes, moisturisers, shampoos, creams and what-nots into little containers like you discover in hotel bathrooms. A bagful of your favorite kit, noticeably labeled creates it simple to dash for the door at a moment’s notification. I wish that these tips take a bit of pressure out of what must be an pleasing experience. Anyone that has been robbed will inform you that they could have minimized their losses if they only did …. Keep in mind; research is everything. 1. Having a unseen wallet is something that is very usefull. Pack it away carefully so not in you back pocket. Maybe you have a chain or alarm string that you can attach to it. 2. Take only 1 credit card and if you are only going on holiday, preload it. That way if you get robbed or misplace your wallet, you will only misplace a preset amount. 3. Always have the most important telephone numbers on you and in your hotel/bungalow apartment. You will need the numbers of family to phone, your credit card company to block your card, your insurance company and your hotel. 4. Leave a copy of your travel insurance at home. This will save you a lot of troubles if you lose the one you have with you. With the technology these days it is no problem to email or fax it to you when you need it. 5. Have your important medical information on you at all times. As a minimum affirm your blood type and allergies. Though most doctors and nurses will be able to read English, it might be a fine idea to also have it in the native language of your destination. Being prepared is everything. People that are organized will not be in half as much trouble as people who are not prepared. If you stick to the guidelines from this article you will be off to a fine start. Children safari holidays to Tanzania Africa
When nature meets us - our experience with Elephants while on safari in Africa
My wife and I love Africa, we couldn’t resist the temptation to visit our friends in Africa and go on safari. Juliette was nearly two years old when we travelled from South Africa to Zimbabwe, Malawi, Zambia and Tanzania both the mainland and Zanzibar.
Finding food for our daughter or cots in hotels wasn’t a problem we found which made our trip amazing. In fact the whole trip was just perfect. We were very careful to use mosquito nets, to cover her with a strong mosquito repellent she wasn’t bitten once in the whole trip.
So if you are thinking of travelling to Africa with your family but are worried whether your children will enjoy the safari and whether they will be safe, we hope you will be encouraged with our personal experiences. Our daughter Juliette has enjoyed safaris from the very earliest age and have friends who have raised their children so the easy answer is yes children do adapt well to the wild but with some conditions.
Children tend to love the wildlife and a safari is usually a wonderful experience for children of all ages. It can get a bit long and hot for children so we have some suggestions for you;
- take with you some animal spotting safari games
- learn the Swahili names for the animals which will help the children build a relationship with your driver and should provide fun.
- Download “safari games” free from the web this will entertain them when the safari is quiet. We have a FREE children’s activity pack which you can view or download and print free of charge and includes a safari animal check list with Swahili animal names, plus some other fun stuff.
The only real incident that we had that could be useful for other parents travelling with young children while on safari…
We went on a night drive in Zambia in an open vehicle with other guests from the lodge. As it turned out, it was one of the most fantastic we have ever done. We spotted a young leopard and later found ourselves right in the middle of a herd of buffalo being ambushed by four female lions. We could see that the lions missed their prey. Our daughter in all the confusion started crying: Within seconds the lions who normally consider vehicles as just part of the landscape started to look at the vehicle as a potential prey, a small animal in distress. Fortunately our guide and driver noted the change and immediately drove us away at top speed to safety with a pack of lions following us.
Children’s food in a safari lodge is no problem as the meals are usually flexible so that isn’t a problem for you either. There won’t be any problems keeping the children amused, this will be a new and thrilling experience where they will be introduced to different cultures and maybe poverty, the experience of Africa may possibly play an important role in the education of your children.
Provided the parents act sensibly there is no real danger to the children. Certainly the first thing to do is sit down with your children before departure and explain that Africa is a different world from the one they are used to, where there is danger around. There is no need to exaggerate but camp rules must be obeyed, because if they’re not, the consequences can be serious. For very young children I would advise you to select your lodge carefully and check with your travel advisor which are most suitable for children. We can guide you on this from personal understanding as we have been on many safaris with our children. We also have a lot of information for going on safari & travelling in Africa
It is recommended that young children should not be vaccinated and are excused in most countries for yellow fever but truthfully I don’t feel this should be of concern. This is a rare disease which you should not encounter in a safari lodge. More concern is for malaria which is a problem all through the tropics. The locals catch it frequently and it is frequently judged no worse than an attack of flu. But depending on the strain, it may be dangerous and a better solution is prevention. Young children cannot take malaria tablets but please get advice from your doctor. Don’t forget to apply mosquito repellent profusely all over them, cover their arms and legs before the sunsets and make certain that the children sleep under mosquito nets. If you take these safety measures you can reduce the risk of malaria to almost zero.
Don’t be scared about taking your children to Africa, it is a wonderful experience for them and we have been back with Juliette many times, but do cover them up well and no safaris in open vehicles for very small children
Note: The above information is advice given on the basis of the author’s experience at the time of writing and the author cannot take responsibility for any traveller choosing to take the advise above. Speak to your GP and take advice from the relevant authorities before travelling.

Itik Itik Dance
To the folks of Surigao del Norte, Itik-itik is the popular dance for them. Various dancers have different steps of the dance. Hinted from its name, the dance steps are likened to the way a duck walks. A duck or itik in Filipino walks in a choppy and short step manner. Water is also splashed on its back while walking. The dance is to attract mates.
Based on beliefs, Itik-itk originated from Sibay. Sibay is a dance which is performed using the Dejado music. The Sibay, which originated from the neighboring islands in the Visayas, is also a bird dance. It is from Samar where Sibay came from as identified by Reynaldo Gamboa Alejandro, one of the authority in Philippine dances.
His identification is consistent with the book Fr. Ignacio Alzina wrote in 1668. Alzina is a Jesuit missionary who was assigned to Samar. In his book, he described a popular dance in Samar called Sabay as a dance that imitates the movements of flying birds. In his book, one of his designs has a subtitle that reads, “su danza para hombre y mujer.” When translated, the caption means dance for man and woman. The caption is fitting to the Waray amenudo dances’ characteristic.
It is from the towns of Carrascal, Cantillan, Lanuza, and Carmen where Itik-itik’s present from came from. The said towns are located in the province of Surigao del Norte which can be found in the Caraga Region.
The popular version of the dance was introduced by a lady named Kanang. This is based on a certain tale. The story explained that Kanang was mesmerized by the ducks she saw from a nearby pond. Shen then attempted to mimic the actions of the birds. This happened when she was attending and dancing at a baptismal party. The other attendees got interested in her imitation of the birds so they also dance following her steps. After that, the dance and the step was handed down from geeration to generation.
There are many versions of the dance but the most popular version is the Itik-itik Surigaonon. Most of the versions of the dance are found in Visayas. Tibiao, Antique and Sibonga, Cebu has its versions of Itik-itik.
Chess Basics, What You Should Know
It is incredibly frustrating to play chess. Unless you are a genious and expert at chess, you ARE going to feel frustration.
It is not as straight forward as fighting bad breath with a product line like therabreath. No. Chess has many twists and turns to it. A game can be agoniziing when you are down even a point.
It is good to take a portable oral irrigator with you when travelling to chess tournaments. Stress can take a toll on your dental health, even if you are using Oramd or something like it.
In case you were not aware of the point system that allows decent players to know who has the upper hand, her is the run down:
Queen – She is worth 9 points because of her ability to move multiple spaces in multiple directions. The only peice that can move in a way that she can not is the horse or cavalry.
Rook: The rook or ‘castle’ is worth 5 points. Locking two rooks together so that they protect each other and can work in tandem to trap a king are both well utilized tactics in chess.
The Bishop is worth 3 points. The bishop is able to move diagonally on the same color squares as the one it starts the game on. Bishops are often held on a corner of the board and used for long distance strikes when your opponent has forgotten about them and therefore is not defending himself / herself very well.
The Horse: The horse can move in what is described as an ‘L’ shaped pattern. This movement has also been described as ‘one up and two over’.
Pawns – Pawns can only move forward, not backward and they can only move one square at a time except for one special circumstance. The power of the pawn is in interlocking patterns and its ability to become a queen or any other peice should it reach the opponents back rank.
