Not only is the city primarily democratic, it just elected its first openly gay mayor.. Seattle might have Boeing but Houston has NASA and the space shuttle. Unfortunately, the weather in both Houston and Seattle can be miserable at times. In Seattle, the sun never shines and there is the regular grayness in the sky that can often be depressing for some. However, the problem with Houston is usually very high humidity levels and an occasional hurricane scare.
