Coleman Tent, Camping With A Legend

Coleman Tent holds many memories of summer and spring nights sitting around the campfire and knowing that any kind of weather can’t stop you from curling up in your Coleman tent a few short feet away.

For many years the name Coleman has been synonymous with high quality, yet reasonably priced tents. In many cases the traditional a-frame tent with its multitude of poles, ropes, and pegs has been replaced by the new styles which incorporate slip-together, flexible frames and geodesic shapes, but Coleman Quality remains the same.

Modern Coleman tents come sizes and prices for practically any camping need and budget. Family sized tents may sleep up to six people, with enough extra room to store all the extra gear needed for a fun and relaxing camping trip. Coleman also makes backpacking tents just for those occasions where light weight and easy set up are must-have features.

All Coleman tents come with such standard features as inverted floor seams, mesh ventilation panels, and factory-taped fly-pole seams. Separate storage bags come for the tent, poles, and tent stakes. Having the seperate storage bags makes setting up your tent so much quicker and easier.

The Coleman tents of today maintain the same excellent quality as the tents made years ago, but some modern tents come with cutting-edge options to increase your comfort and convenience. Today’s tents may come with such items as hinged doors and powerful lights built right in.

Coleman tents mean quality you can trust, so even if the rain comes pouring down on your summer camping trip you can expect to stay warm and dry. Camp fires are great, sleeping bags are nice, but nothing says camping like sleeping in a warm dry tent. No tent on the market comes with as much history of quality and dependability as a Coleman tent. So when it comes time for that next outdoor adventure remembers to take along the best, a Coleman tent.

The Coleman brand has been around for ages and will keep being around as long as people are buying their products which I don’t believe will go out anytime soon because of their high quality, durability and affordability. Coleman is here to stay! No more leaky tents, cold nights or stumbling in the dark to go to the bathroom with camping gear from Coleman your camping trip can become a dream vacation.

Winter Tents – Things to Consider Before You Choose One

Good four season tents (also called winter tents) are made to effectively protect you from wind, cold and forms of precipitation while enabling sufficient ventilation.

Before I talk about things to consider before choosing a good winter tent, keep in mind that the usage of a “winter” tent doesn’t need to be limited to winter conditions – it can be used in mild conditions as well. Just remember that although you can use your 4 season tent in the summer, many of them bottle up heat and don’t have the ventilation to keep you cool (unless it’s a lightweight four season tent).

Now, the camping tent you buy should…

  • keep out the cold,
  • ventilate well,
  • stand up to strong winds,
  • brush off heavy snow, and
  • ward off all forms of precipitation.

If you’re a backpacker, you probably know that you should buy a lightweight tent that you can easily carry around.

Winter camping tents are designed to withstand extreme temperatures, but here are three factors to look at before you buy your tent…

Size Is Important

Winter campers spend lots of time inside their tents as compared to summer campers. For this reason you definitely want to choose the right size tent. There are tents small enough for 1 and large enough to hold 10+. You might even consider purchasing a tent that is slightly bigger than what you need.

For example, if you need to sleep 3, consider buying a 4 person tent to ensure you’ll have plenty of space.

Strong Frame

The tent poles should be sturdy. The frame should be made with extra strength aluminum or carbon fiber rather than fiberglass or customary aluminum which can easily fracture.

Storage

You want a tent with storage options for your gear. You want to be able to move around inside your tent without smashing anything.

If you have two or more rooms, one space can act as your “foyer” for storing wet outerwear, boots, etc.

Storage pockets will also make it easier to locate those handy items when you need them.

Armed with a good 4 season tent, equipment and the right know-how, you’ll be comfortable despite the weather conditions.

Create a Lifetime of Memories – Take Your Family Camping

Most of my best memories of our family camping trips were of time spent sitting around the nightly campfire. In fact, as soon as we’d pull into the campground, dad would start setting up the family camping tents and I’d head into the forest to find wood for the fire. I’d always collect so much firewood that there would be no chance of burning it all but the “hunt” was tons of fun for me. Then it would be my job to start the campfire. I can remember bragging to my friends that I could build a campfire with only one match and no newspaper or charcoal lighter. Today it’s probably easier to carry your firewood with you but sitting around the fire is still a lot of fun.

Sitting by the campfire is one of those things that bring people together. Start a fire and there’s a good chance that the people in the camper next to you will come by with some marshmallows to toast. My sister used to roast hers slowly and get them brown on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside and she always cooked them on one of our bbq tools. I always put mine on the tip of a stick and set them on fire until they were burnt to a crisp. We met a family on a camping trip in Canada in the late sixties and mom and dad are still close friends with them today.

Your kids will love sitting around the campfire too. Once the marshmallows get toasting and you bring out the hot chocolate, somebody may start telling stories. I used to like the ones that started out sounding like they were going to be scary but then the punch lines made them funny. You will also sing silly songs and tell jokes that only the kids find funny. What your kids will love the most is that the whole family will be together and the they will have mom and dad all to themselves.

The more I remember those great vacations, the more I suggest that you pack your camping gear; and picnic accessories and take your family camping. You’ll have a fantastic vacation and create memories that will last a lifetime. I know mine have.
