What have some airlines been up to this year?
Here is a list of the most annoying and idiotic airlines over the past 8 months, and some of the things they have done to annoy us:
Ryanair have proved once again how annoying they can be, by raising there prices to ridiculous amounts. They used to be a very cheap airline, and in some respects they still are. However they have just announced to the world that they will be increasing charges on checking in Luggage. Did your suit case look at you one day and say, “oh by the way i want more money”? We have weight restrictions already, so why if they weigh the same amount as normal, do we now all of a sudden have to pay extra? If my suitcase says to me that it wants to fly 1st class then that may be a reason for me to fork out some more cash. They reckon that this will help to save costs on overall fares, this could be interesting.
Virgin is by far becoming one of the most powerful airlines in the world. We all know it’s going to happen, the time of Microsoft is over, and soon Virgin will take over the world. But before they do, they also have some rather annoying tendencies. One example is banning people from getting on their planes in South Africa if they have swine flu. Well seeing as Swine Flu has already reached every far corner of the world, will this actually help. So we stop people from coming into a country, where swine flu is already present, hmmm seems a little odd to me? But i don’t want to moan about them too much, give it 30 years and they will own the world.
Easy Jet have done a pretty good job of making themselves look silly this year. Easy Jet claim that this is a hoax, but they would wouldn’t they, that told one of the customers she was too “fat” to fly. Now that seems a little extreme to me. After being told she was fat, they them offered her the chance to buy another ticket to accommodate her girth. I might also add that she only weighed 15 stone. Hmmmm maybe a little extreme, don’t you think?
Well if you’re thinking about Caribbean holidays try Maldives holidays instead and fly with someone you know you can trust, if you can find that airline. Let’s see who can screw up the Christmas holidays the most this year?
Bandos Island Resort – Maldives Holiday Packages
Bandos island resort had refurbishment during 2005 which saw it not only receive a stylish face lift but also extend its exiting facilities and add extra accommodation.
The look and feel of Bandos is a natural balance between casual and formal, with thatched roofs but fine tiled floors, for example. Some of the rooms in the standard and junior class have an interconnecting door for families split between several rooms.
The bar area and other amenities are well-placed near the water, and the bar is often busy until the early hours of the morning. The restaurants, while not particularly inspiring in their decor, do serve a range of quality dishes.
The resort has made a lot of effort to look after and cater for visiting families, providing a purpose-built childcare facility with female staff on hand to look after the children and also provide babysitting in the evenings. So even with the kids along you can still enjoy a romantic break.
There are 84 standard rooms which lie on the beach side. There are 48 Junior suites at Bandos, arranged in groups with a shared garden. They are ornately decorated, with a yellow and ochre color scheme, solid wood four-poster bed and a sense of style that make them very accommodating.
Bandos is without doubt one of the focal points of diving in the Maldives, not least since it is one of the few resorts to actually have a decompression chamber. The dive center here is both a Platinum Facility of the International Association of Nitrox and Technical Divers and a PADI Gold Palm Resort.
The Bandos resort provides a ?Kuda Bandos Sunset Wedding? for those getting married, which features a taste of traditional island ceremony, a sunset boat ride, unique cultural costumes, Maldivian drums and traditional style and ceremony.
One of these has got to be the top hotel in the world!
Have you every wondered what is the best hotel in the world, I would wager that you probably have. But by best, what do we mean by the best hotel in the world. For some this could be a hotel of good quality, that doesn’t cost that much. For others it will be hotel of stunning quality that is going to be relatively expensive.
So how are we going to measure this? Well for this we won’t be looking at the price of a room. We will simply look at the quality of these hotels, and the world wide knowledge of them. So let’s start, I have narrowed my search down to 2 hotels, one of which will be considered by most to be the number one hotel in the world, however its contender is a good possibility.
Well let’s start off with the heavy weight champion. The Burj Al Arab is without a doubt the most iconic hotel in the world, the place is like a little package of heaven. If you are ever lucky enough to visit, then make sure that you cancel all of your plans and head there ASAP. It is in the same design as a dhow sail from one of the Arabian sail vessels. The inside closely resembles a bee hive, but of extreme modern and luxurious proportions. This hotel has so much to offer any visitor, a restaurant with a sea life centre in the middle, not to mention the rooms are like small presidential mansions.
So what hotel could possibly contend with this then? Well how about the Oberoi Udaivilas, India. This is a hotel in the world famous chain of Oberon established in 1934. Not only is this recognised as one of the top luxury hotels in the world, but it has even starred in a Jams Bond film, to be precise the film “Octopussy”. Each room has its own private infinity pool and the restaurant provides some of the best cuisine in the world. This hotel also wins awards every year, and is set in some of the most glorious scenery in the world.
Dubai holidays and Indian Ocean holidays are in great demand, rivalled only by Caribbean holidays or Maldives holidays.
The Maldives, the place for holidays, culture and relaxation!
Now the Maldives has started to build up a lot more tourists. The Maldives isn’t just a country, it is a collection of many islands and islets totalling around one thousand one hundred. It is also a very unique set of islands. This is a very unique region, this is the lowest place on earth, only just above sea level.
The fact that it is only about one and a half metres above sea level, mean that it is in extreme danger of the effects of Global Warming. If the sea levels begin to rise even more than they already have, the Maldives will disappear very quickly. There is a great ecosystem in the lush clear blue waters. Whale sharks are a very popular attraction around the islands attracting many diving fanatics. Because of the wildlife the Maldives attract many different kinds of people, mainly environmentalists, those who know that at some point in the future, these creatures may not be around.
The Maldives is now becoming heavily dependant on tourism, and is shifting its main income from fisheries towards tourism. Holiday offers to the Maldives have been dropping in price for many years, realising the regions potential for some great holidays and great views, people have started to visit even more. So what about the weather, surely it will be wet, and it is, it’s just that the humidity and warmth lingers in the air.
However a major problem facing the Maldives is that the entire collection of islands is threatened by tsunami. The 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami caused damage to almost all of the islands, and if a larger one were to hit it again, odds are that the islands could completely vanish. So maybe a holiday to the Maldives would be a good idea sooner rather than later?
For some of the best holidays imaginable then you should try; Maldives holidays, Sri Lanka holidays or Dubai holidays.
Why not holiday in the Maldives, try one of these Top resorts!
I have just arrived back from my holiday to the Maldives, It was probably the best holiday ever. After i had finished my holiday in the Maldives, i wanted to let you know of the research i had done on the top 3 resorts here. Basically i had already done the research and i had looked for what would best suit me, so here is a list of the top 3 resorts recommended by others as well.
In the starting line up is the Lily Beach Resort. It was clearly a hotel built for the royalty of the world. On a small island there isn’t much to do other than relax and get seriously pampered. If you want to feel like a king or queen, then you need to book a holiday to this place, one warning is that it’s not all that cheap. If you want to go and learn how to dive, then this hotel is great. If you like to keep busy, even though you are on a luxury spa holiday, then you should come here, they even have a sports complex.
Next up is the Diva Island Resort. This hotel even supplies you with your own little villa complex including a pool, the service is unbelievable. The villas that you stay in are of amazing luxurious quality, and the swimming pools are as clear as the ocean. This island is home to one long beach that runs around the whole island, it’s miles long, so is great for a nice relax. No matter where you walk on this island you feel like your walking in the clouds, somewhere in heaven. This resort is also a little cheaper than the Lily Beach.
We then have the Baros Maldives Hotel. This island stands out apart from the others, because it has a forest in the centre of it, but the beaches are just as nice as the others. This although may not be quite so expensive, the accommodation is just as good. There is no chance of getting stressed here, the hotel works at its best to keep you calm and relaxed. As i was looking round the island i found out that a biologist lived here and she took me Scuba diving. Anyone interested in Big Game fishing? This place is great for swimming with whale sharks and fishing for some rather large fish. If you have ever fancied doing it, there is a chance to go sailing on a Catamaran.
So I would recommend one of these for Maldives holidays, but if you’re looking for a similar yet not as expensive holiday, try Sri Lanka holidays, they are just as luxurious, and known for their spa treatments! For holidays of truly major expense, you should go for Dubai holidays, the holidays of kings.
