Starts to tire eventually and ends with a cry, not a smash although there’s much to like here. The Lost Boys: Family moves to a California town where the local adolescent clique turns out to be vampires! Smooth film aimed at adolescent spectators. Both the humor and the structuring are pretty apparent. Only genuine fireworks materialize at the end in the very last showdown. Pajama Party: Fourth beach party film moves inside, changes director and megastar (albeit Frankie Avalon and Don Rickles do have cameos). Kirk plays an alien adolescent who drops in and is understandably confused. Just fair, albeit it’s unconditionally fine to see Keaton at work. Cast includes Tommy Kirk, Annette Funicello, Dorothy Lamour, Elsa Lanchester, Harvey Lembeck, Jody McCrea, Buster Keaton, Susan Hart, and Donna Loren. (85 minutes, 1984)

The Pleasure Garden: Hitchcock’s first work, shot in Munich is a choppy account of a pair of chorus gals, one sugary and knowing, the other a waif. They eventually both become involved with the same man. Cast includes Virginia Valli, Carmelita Geraghty, Miles Mander, Jolm Stuart, and George Snell.  (68 minutes, 1935)

Boots Malone: Holden comes to life in the role of a gloomy personality who reforms while he trains Stewart to become a jockey.  Cast includes William Holden, Johnny Stewart, Ed Begley, Harry Morgan, and Whit Bissell. (103 minutes, 19852)

The Guyver: All-American Armstrong, contaminated by an extraterrestrial device, finds that he is an armored superhero, an excellent thing, as long as virtually everyone else in the film might turn into a frightening beast, like CIA representative Hamill, who turns into a large cockroach.
