Making sure you capture those once in a lifetime moments

There are always great events in everybody’s lives.  There is of course weddings, graduations, births, and many more.  One of the things you don’t want to do is just let those be memories. You want to make sure you are able to capture those moments forever with how wonderful cameras are.So to make sure you do capture those moments forever with photography here are some tips.

For all these great event, first of all, you don’t need to hire a professional. But of course a professional is always preferred for those big occassions. Of course you would hire a professional on big occasions like weddings.  That is why as a wedding photographer San Diego my service stays busy.  Because it is such a special moment you want a professional to catch those shots and make them beautiful.

Of course there are those moments like the birth of a child. Now of course in the hospital room you wouldn’t want a professional photographer to cover the events. But you might want to hire one to take photos of those first few days.  As a San Diego photographer my company gets hired to take newborn photos all the time. Those are some of the most significant events so hiring a professional makes a lot of sense.

Finally there are big occasions like graduations. This is one thing that you yourself can probably do.But it is not painful to hire a professional either.  As a San Diego portrait photographer service we do graduations all the time. And people hire us most of the time because they need memorable shots. Plus they need to take pleasure in the occasion rather have to make sure to capture photos.

There are many important moments in life as you can see.  And as you can see using photography is one of the best ways to remember them forever. Because you will not only remember them, but you will also be able to see them with photos. That is something that is worth every penny.

Some tips in taking snapshots of a wedding

One of the best businesses you can start for yourself is a photography business. If you really like photography and earn from it also then that would be the best feeling.A wedding is one of the biggest events that a professional photographer can do.But it can also be the hardest especially if you are still new in the business. The main reason for this is because of the pressure it can bring which can make the photographer more nervous as he/she is still inexperienced.

First thing you should do is to create a timeline of the events of the wedding and then list down all the shots that you have in mind for each event that will happen. That way you can relax because you have a plan on hand and that you can anticipate the shots that you would be taking.  By having every photo laid out that you want to take you won’t miss any shots.  This has even helped me in my wedding photographer San Diego service.

Another tip that can be very important is to bring a backup for all the things that you would be using for the wedding shoot.  You don’t know how many times equipment has failed in my San Diego photographer business. If you have backup you can be srue you can finish the job that they hired you to do.And you can also save yourself from embarassment. There is no worse feeling than the feeling of not being able to take pictures.

Finally you have to know how to take charge. As mentioned a while ago a wedding is a hectic day.  If you are passive the events of the day will mess you up.But if you take charge then you would do a very good job.  Because if you aren’t forceful in what you want you will miss many important shots.  This has helped a lot for most events in my San Diego portrait photographer service.

If you are a budding photographer then you must follow these tips so that you will have a guide on your very first wedding shoot.

The World’s Hottest Hot Honeymoon Destinations

Looking for a sexy slip-away spot to celebrate your recent nuptials? These places aren’t only high in temperature, they’re some of the hottest places in the world to make a getaway, according to the Travel Channel.

Starting off the list, they say is Four Seasons Resort Hualalai on the Big Island of Hawaii. Apparently the first-floor rooms have a private outdoor shower – that’s pretty hot. The Ultimate Honeymoon Package offered by the resort gives you use of a rental car, one private dinner on the beach and daily breakfast.

Also making the top 10 list is the Hyatt Regency Aruba Beach Resort & Casino in Palm Beach, Aruba. They say the Copacabana Casino recreates the feeling of Rio at Carnival time, which is great for those who like to have a little fun, and the beaches are the idyllic atmosphere for lounging together.

Following on the list of hot honeymoon destinations is Bora Bora Lagoon Resort in Bora Bora, French Polynesia. This location is coveted for its super-private bungalows that are perched on stilts over the crystal-clear waters. For the ultimate in luxury, couples can escape to a private island for their very own BBQ prepared by a personal chef.

Next on the list are locations in Caneel Bay in St. John and the Grand Hotel in Florence, Italy, but let’s skip over those to discuss Amankila in Mangiss, Bali, Indonesia. The Travel Channel rates this as fifth on its list because of its views, culture and the fact that you can book a suite with your own private pool. How’s that for romance?

Following Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in Canada, the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, holds the number two spot. Not only does Las Vegas offer the desert heat most of the year, but it’s “sin city” for a reason – there’s plenty of hot nightclubs and scandalous activities to celebrate your new marriage.

Rounding out the list, the number one hot honeymoon destination according to the Travel Channel is Camino Real Acapulco Diamante in Mexico. So what makes this worthy of the number one hot honeymoon destination? The nightlife in Acapulco combined with the ideal temperature, which hovers in the 80s year-round. Newlywed couples are sure to find this location to be as hot as they desire.

Tips to Taking Candid Shots

Taking pictures of people go into two categories.  They are either portraits or candids.

Portraits of course are the shots you take when your subject is striking a pose. While candids are when your subjects are going about their business naturally.

I would like to focus on taking candid shots. This form of photography is an art form, and if you take these few steps, you will be happy with your work.  This is from my experience as a San Diego Photographer.

First off you don’t want to obtrusive.  Most candid shots you take of course are going to be people going about their business, but the secret to taking a great shot like that is to make sure they are unaware of the shot.

Because often, if you let them notice you, you will miss the essence of that unguarded shot.So make every effort to ensure they are not aware of the camera.

Another thing to think about is the environment or the setting. When you are going to take candid photos, the environment plays a big role. You want to capture your subject in their setting as naturally as you can with your candid shot. It’s that setting
whether it is their work, their house, or the street they are walking, helps tell a story of your subject’s life.  This is especially important if you are going to be taking shots as a Wedding Photographer San Diego.

A third thing to consider or do is anticipating behavior. An important part to being able to take candid photos of people who are acting naturally is to know what your subject will do next in a situation.

This will be beneficial to you if you are trying to catch a particular moment because you will be ready rather than miss the shot.Knowing their reactions and anticipating it so you can capture it on film is all about anticipation.

Finally, always be looking for those times when a person may express their emotions.  Because after all, when taking these types of shots, that is the main thing you want to capture in these candid shots is emotion.

Look at what your subject is doing and see if it will be a moment that will express emotion.Such as an expression of impatience at a stoplight.Or a happy expression at an event.Every second in time is an opportunity to capture a moment of beautiful emotion.Being ready for those types of moments helps you capture that moment in time to tell that story.

Taking shots that are candid is an art form in and of itself.Especially if your goal is to tell a story with your candid shots. Following these few simple steps will help you be on the road of capturing as many storytelling moments as possible as a photographer.

Take Better Pictures with these Lighting Tips

In this day and age of digital cameras, you’ve probably heard or thought that all you have to do is push the button and great pictures magically appear.Hold on, don’t go so fast.  The truth is you can have the top of the line digital camera, but if you don’t know what you are doing, you will take lousy shots.

Well, I’d love to share with you some great advice in photography to help improve your skills.  These tips are coming from years of experience as a San Diego wedding photographer. These tips are all about the lighting and they will some of biggest reasons for you success in taking photographs.

First great tip in regards to lighting. Now if the shots you are taking are outdoors during the day, some of the best lighting possible will be the natural sunlight.  Now you are probably thinking, “that’s easy, when you are a San Diego photographer since it is always shiny there”, when in actuality really bright sunlight can cast harsh shadows.  Or it can wash out the details in faces if the sun is overhead.

Overall, most of the shots you are going to want to take with the sun behind you. This eliminates any harsh shawows from effecting your shot from the sun.  But there will be some instances when you want to try different angles when you are trying to get some shadows into the shots.

Now that we have tackled the day shots, what if you are taking shots at night?

The key technique for night photos is actually turning off your flash.  Of course if it is pitch black you will need it, but for times when there is lighting, you want to use the lighting that is around, but you have to make sure you set your shutter speeds slower to let in enough light.Another thing, make sure you keep a steady hand when you take your shot or you can blur the photos.Doing these tricks should make a significantly dramatic difference when you take night shots.

The final tips to using lighting for great shots is using the golden hour.  There is something photographers call the “golden hour” or magic hour, and that time is sunrise and sunset.

It is during this time of day when you will capture great shots that capture more warmer colors.  You will be able to capture that golden lighting you won’t catch any other time of day.

There you have it.  Probably the biggest key in taking greatshots is to make sure you take advantage of the natural lighting.  Knowing what techniques to use for different parts of the day, or just scheduling a photo shoots to capture those times of day will help you become an excellent photographer.

The Right Steps in finding a good Wedding Photographer

The wedding day will probably be one of the most important times that occur for a person’s life. Countless hours go into wedding planning. Probably all of the list of things to do in wedding planning are frustrating, stressful, and time consuming. That is why it is so important to do some homework and find the right people for all of the jobs.  One of the most important jobs is that of the photographer. From my experience as a San Diego wedding photographer I’ll show you it can be a few simple steps away.

Finding any wedding photographer is a huge task. There are several things to take into account when trying to make this important decision. The photos that you take away from your wedding are going to be the most memorable keepsakes that you have. The photos will be hanging on your walls for the rest of yourlife. One of the important factors when trying to find a photographer is price. Most photographers do charge a price for a specific amount of time for the wedding. It is important to know what will be included with that price up front
price. When it comes to finding a wedding photographer, the biggest upside to pricing is there is a lot of competition. Remember, that a lot of photographers can and will negotiate their price a little bit to fit what you need.

Another factor to consider when choosing is how much experience a person has. Is this their first wedding job, or have they done a few? Their price may reflect how long they have been in business as well. Just because someone has a lot of experience doesn’t always mean they will be better. Sometimes the photographers that are just starting their careers and are trying to build a name will turn out to be excellent. The advantage of a person like that and going with them is you know they are going to give it their best. When looking for a wedding photographer, you will find people with varying levels of experience. When you do an interview of prospective photographers, it will give you a sense of what it will be like when you work with them.

A final thing to consider when making this decision is what type of personality the photographer has. Are they likely going to try call all the shots and decide on all your poses? Or will they allow the bride and groom to make some decisions? The other thing to consider is whether or not you want to be making decisions on the photos. The bride and groom will have enough to think about the day of the wedding as it is. Take all of these things into account when considering which photographer to choose. If you do, you are going to have a lot of wonderful pictures to cherish for the rest of your lives.  Take it from me, your experienced San Diego photographer.

Wedding Photography tips

Being asked to take photos for a wedding is a huge responsibility.  If you’ve been asked to do it as a favor, or have been asked to do it professionally, here are 5 tips to do to get the job done right.

This tips are coming from first hand experience as a San Diego wedding photographer. It doesn’t matter if you are a seasoned pro, or if you are an amateur, by following these tips, you won’t second guess yourself. You will be ready for whatever may happen.

Our first tip is easy and that is to have the couple and maybe their families make a list of photos they want to take.  When the day is hectic and chaotic, this will help immensely when you are trying to get family and group shots later on in the day.  You will love it and when you can just go down the list and get everything without leaving anything out by accident.

The second tip on our list is to not delete any shots.  In this day and age of digital cameras, most photographers use them.  Great as they are, they also are tempting to delete a shot since it is so easy to do.Don’t bother even peeking at the previews.Remember, what you think is a great shot, could be vastly different than what the couple thinks is a great shot. You never know, they might like all those so called un “professional shots.

For the the third tip, make sure you get candid shots during and after the wedding.A good wedding photographer doesn’t look to just take your typical shots, like group shots, or wedding shots or your standard newly married shots.  But they will also try and capture the emotions of the day through the shots of all the people that were there. It may include the things that go wrong also, like a flower girl making a wrong turn or the ring bearer not wanting to walk down the aisle.Every photo matters.

The fourth tip is which is often overlooked is to make sure you have several cameras and other equipment as backup.Do you even want to think of the horror of not being able to take any more shots of the wedding because of a broken camera.  Plan for anything that could go wrong.Being prepared with more equipment will ensure that you avoid that awkward moment of not being able to finish the rest of the day because of a broken camera.

Finally, practice your lighting as well. There can be a huge difference between the lighting inside the wedding and outside, so make sure to practice for all the different possible conditions. You should try and see if you can scout the locations for the big day and try and find the best spots to shoot as well as gauging the lighting needs.

Doing these 5 tips will help you immensely.  It will prepare you for whatever might go wrong, it will prepare you for capturing what goes right, and it will prepare you to help contribute to this wonderful day by being the best photographer you can be.  Take it from my years of experience as a San Diego photographer.

Get the Best Photographer for the Job

Looking for a photographer for a special day?  Well my experience being a San Diego Photographer has given me some insight on how to make the best choice for that special occasion.  So don’t even think about popping open the yellow pages and picking any old photographer that you find.  Take it from my experience and follow these steps on choosing a good photographer.

For special days, most people want to capture those special memories with pictures, especially if it is a wedding, I know from first hand experience as a San Diego Wedding Photographer; so it is very important that you research the photographer you are going to trust for the job.  So why not ask friends and family for some recommendations.  Their recommendations will help you formulate a list of candidates for the job.

After you have accumulated a list of photographers you should visit their websites.  Check out events they have shot and determine whether or not that is the type of photography you are looking for.  Photographers who have online portfolios will save you a lot of time because then you can prequalify them instead of having to wait til your first meeting to see their portfolio.

Now that you have narrowed your list down to photographers you want to talk with, it is time to do some interviewing.  This can be over the phone rather than going in person, so you can save some more time.  What you want to accomplish with these phone interviews is to have your specific questions answered.  When you do this, you will have a better feel on whether or not this will be the right person for the job.  By doing this, you can narrow down your list even further, and now whoever is left over, you can finally meet in person to look over their work and discuss more details even further.

Now, after meeting with the final photographers on the list, it is time to decide who will be the right person for the job.  Some of the factors you want to base your decision upon is, does this person understand what you want for this photo shoot, and how to capture the special moments.  Also is this a person whom you like.  Believe it or not, for something as intimate as photographing a special day, you want to make sure it is somebody you get along with.  After you believe you have found the perfect photographer, then go ahead and make the decision and let the person know you have chosen them.

Doing these few but profound steps will help you in many ways.  The process will give you the opportunity to know your photographer more intimately then any other process.  Having this knowledge of him or her will allow you to connect with them, which is very important.  It will also let you see what their style and vision will be for the photo shoot.  And probably the most important part is the fact you will be at ease in your mind, because you have taken great care to find the right photographer.
