Your next holiday could take you to Zanzibar, and why not?

The other name that is well known of Zanzibar is the Spice Island. Zanzibar at one point created 80%of the worlds refined spices, now because it has had to change with modernisation of its country, only produces 20%. Slowly becoming a huge tourist attraction, Zanzibar’s tourism industry is now one of its biggest money spinners. Here are a list of some of the things should see, and do when you get to Zanzibar:

First and foremost you have to go and visit the Spice refining factories; Zanzibar holidays are famous for these. Travelling around the Islands is a must do and you can have the opportunity to travel around the island to view the spice factories for about 6 pounds.

If you want a more in-depth and emotional experience, you can go and visit the old Slave Market. This does present us with the darker side of Zanzibar’s history but presents us with the realistic way in which the world used to be. If you do get the chance to go on this tour, you should be very keen to go, it gives great in depth history of the Island.

Head over to the eastern side of the island and find yourself looking over sandy beaches. Over here you can find people everywhere offering to take you out Scuba Diving, and with so many different diving destinations off the coast of this island you definitely won’t be getting bored.

Just for your information though, these people come from a very respectful and religious culture. It is recommended to keep limbs covered with clothing in public, and try not to smoke or chew gum in-front of people, this is considered insulting. It is considered polite to avoid eating during daylight when Ramadan is on, even if you don’t engage in it. This will show that you respect them as a people and they are very accommodating.

Go and enjoy a Zanzibar holiday or travel to the mainland for Botswana holidays or Namibia holidays as well.
